“Alex is fantastic! She tutored me in pre-calc, trig, calculus, and physics while I was a student at community college. I had no background in mathematics or physical science, and I was easily overwhelmed and intimidated at first. Alex made everything seem simple and straightforward. I would leave my classes feeling like I just didn’t “get it” or that it would take me forever to work out problems by brute force and memorization, but Alex would explain concepts in a way that were just perfect for my brain. She used lots of visual diagrams and real world examples that gave me a bird’s eye view of the process so I’d understand why and how I was doing something instead of just mimicking whatever I had in my notes/the textbook.
She’s also incredibly patient with frustrations! She always believes in your abilities and has an upbeat attitude no matter how many times she has to explain something. She has a good understanding of different learning styles, and she’s really quick on her feet to adjust her teaching style right off the bat.
